With only twelve accommodations, Athens Gate remains small and exclusive allowing us personalized time with each of our guests. We do not have a restaurant on-site, but there are several within a short walk (2-3 minutes).

We had an amazing vacation experience at Athens Gate! The setting is picturesque - a slice of paradise! The villas are very well-appointed and comfortable. What differentiates Athens Gate from other resorts are the truly wonderful people that work there - Ruth and "E". They took excellent care of us!! We are already looking forward to our next vacation at Athens Gate and Ambergris Caye. Highly recommend!!!

I just visited Belize with two girlfriends and Athens Gate was perfect. It's a very short ride to town on the quieter south end. The condo was spacious, clean and overlooked the water. E and Ruth were the most friendly and helpful hosts. They make your stay and planning as easy as possible.

I'm a local photographer specialized on vacation photos and I can say Athens Gate is one of the most photogenic resorts I've work with. Once in a while,even if I'm a local, I escape and stay at different resorts from Ambergris Caye just to experience what my clients do... and this one is a "ah-mazing" as my son said. Great staff, Beach BAR is "whoa!"

Athens Gate is by far one of the nicest places to stay on Ambergris Caye. The facility itself is extremely clean and well equipped if you want to cook yourself. Direct TV in each bedroom provides all of the television amenities of the U.S. The Wi-Fi is adequate but not state of the art. We had 4 people in the Condo and sometimes it worked well and others it did not.

If the goddess Athenia had wanted a home in the tropics this would have been her pleasure . The magnificent greek gables that corner the buildings make it stand out among the normal buildings seen here on ambergris caye you know just walking around the grounds from the overall ambiance of the lay out the swim up pool facing the ocean with the waterfall above you as you enjoy a cool drink in the pool you know you have arrived at a place of pure pleasure.

This was by far the best/most accommodating place that we have ever stayed. The staff, especially "E" was so helpful with information about the island and any excursions you would want to take. You would not be disappointed in a stay here.

First time to Belize and I can't imagine staying anywhere else. Such a paradise setting and the staff -- especially ' E ' is amazing! All you need to do is give him an idea of what adventure you are looking for and he arranges it. Diving here is incredible! Went fishing and caught 2.5 lbs of fish. It was cut for cooking and ' E ' gave us a short shopping list and he cooked the fish on the BBQ for us. It was as good or better than the meals in town! So much fun for the family.

Athens Gate is small, but wonderful in every way. The service here is impeccable! The staff will arrange anything you would like as far as restaurant reservations, excursions, fishing, you name it. The beach is private and serene. The pool is very nice. Our condo was nicely furnished & in perfect condition. Here is a picture from our living room. What a view!
